To the families and businesses who sponsored signs at the RSHSTigers Cross Country Meet: Thank You!

These signs made for a grand spectacle around our finish shoot and awards table. This really boosted the community- based atmosphere of the event. Thanks to each of you as well as Donna Dekrey for reaching out and planning all of the sign logistics.

This is the first season that I and our assistant coach. Mesa Weidle have taken over the program. Brad and Donna are tremendously respected by us and the kids, we stand on the shoulders of giants. We have kept many traditions alive including the JM-NP-BEANOX3 cheer. This has included an annual run up Wilkins Peak to the physical memorial. We share the stories passed on of Justin McDonald. Nicole Peterson, and Dan Bruner (Beano). We embrace the lesson of this team being a family and of lifting each other up along the road, especially in hard times. Thank you for supporting their respective charities;

  • Ronald McDonald House

  • St. Jude's Hospital

  • Black Dog Rescue.

We have built some new traditions too this year including our Coats for Kids 5k/10k trail run benefitting needy kids in SCSD#1. Thank you for your continued support of this family. Please feel free to search and follow our facebook group; RSHS Tigers Cross Country. I'm sure we'Il be in touch next year!

Cordially,

Year End Update from the 2022 RHS XC Team

Update from Brad & Donna DeKrey

Brad and Donna DeKrey officially retired after the fall 2021 season.  Before the start of the 2022 Cross Country season Donna talked with the new coaches, Eric Urlacher and Mesa Weidle to determine if they were interested in keeping the JM NP Beano Memorial alive. Both coaches were very interested in preserving this tradition, so Donna offered to help with the fundraising and promotional efforts.  As we all realize, social media venues are the most efficient and effective ways to communicate with all our RSXC supporters, and we are excited to be able to have our own website.  Many thanks to Leah DeKrey, Brad and Donna’s daughter-in-law, who volunteered to design and maintain this site.  Rock Springs Cross Country teams have been supporting this charitable endeavor since 1996, and to this date have donated over $50,000 to the designated charities.  The DeKreys would like to thank each and every person who has supported our teams throughout the last 35 years, and it is our pleasure to ask for your continued support of the JM NP Beano Memorial for many more years to come. Go Tigers!!

2023 Fundraising Update | 2023 Fundraising Update |

As we close out the fundraising efforts for the JM NP Beano Memorial we would like to thank our generous supporters and announce our 2022 financial donations.

On March 3 , 2023 Donna DeKrey sent checks for $2,600 to each of the following charities:

  • Ronald McDonald House in memory of Justin MacDonald

  • St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Nicole Peterson

  • Black Dog Rescue in memory of Dan Bruner

Thanks a million for all your support and generous donations, we are truly humbled to be life long members of the RSHS Cross Country family.

We realize the start and conclusion of our fundraising campaign this year was rather late due to major changes in format and a few other unforeseen setbacks.  It is our goal for the 2023 JM NP Beano Memorial to begin our fundraising efforts at the start of the RSHS Cross Country season in the fall and conclude our campaign in December of 2023.  Thanks again for your love and support.
